Earth Day Brunch and Workday

Today we had an Earth Day Brunch and Workday! We invited all of the new prospective Harvard students to join us since it was their visiting weekend. A few of the garden members cooked some delicious brunch food like focaccia, banana bread, and zucchini/walnut bread. We also had veggies with dip!

The workday was also extremely productive, thanks to the help of everyone that came out to join us. We finished our last greenhouse, planted spinach, tomatoes, chard, lettuce, and arugula, and we painted more veggie signs.

It was such a successful day, especially considering the fact that the weather really wasn't all that great. Still 50's and cloudy in Boston.

Thanks again to everyone that came out and helped to get our garden started for the season!

Here is a picture of our delicious brunch table:

Marina, one of our garden managers, made a delicious rosemary simple syrup! We mixed it with sparkling water and pieces of lemon to make a really fresh soda-like drink.

Here you see some of the prospective students and some current Harvard students turning beds. We had so many workers today!

A lot of people helped us paint the signs as well. On the bench you can also see some of our seed flats getting ready to be put in our new greenhouse.

Some of our new beautiful signs! We can't wait to actually start growing all of these fruits and vegetables!

xoxo,

The Harvard Garden Gnomes
